Minister of Science and Culture Sari Multala will visit Japan from 2 October to 7 October. The Minister will attend the meeting of the Science and Technology in Society forum, meet key figures in the field of science and culture and learn about topics and places of interest.
During her visit to Japan, Minister Multala will be attending the Science and Technology in Society forum (STS). The STS Forum, which has been convening annually in Kyoto for twenty years in the autumn, creates cooperation networks between leading scientists, companies and public sector actors in the world.
In connection with the STS Forum, Multala will also meet Japan's respective minister. In their meeting, they will discuss ways to step up research cooperation between Finnish and Japanese research communities, such as research funding for collaboration and opportunities related to the use of research infrastructures.
The Minister will visit RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS), a research institute where Fugaku, the fourth most powerful supercomputer in the world, is located. The Minister will also pay a visit to the Finnish Design Embassy and Tokai University.
