Boise Police arrest suspect following early morning stabbing

Arrested: Farida Mathew, 23, Boise
Charges: 2 counts- Burglary (F), Battery - Aggravated (F)
On September 18, 2024, shortly after 1 am, Boise Police responded to a report of a home invasion in the area of W. Washington and 14th St. Evidence indicates the suspect, Farida Mathew, broke into the victim's home and stabbed her multiple times before the victim fled from the residence. Officers secured the scene, closing W. Washington and 14th St. while they worked to safely take the suspect into custody. The Boise Police Special Operations Unit responded to provide additional resources and crisis negotiators worked to make contact with Mathew, who was still inside of the home. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Around 5 am, Mathew exited the residence and was taken into custody. Following an investigation Mathew was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.
