Billboards should not spoil the look of heritage buildings: 9600 illegal billboards have been dismantled in Yerevan

Capital renovation of Rebirth park in Nor Nork administrative district is still going on. At the regular working meeting it was reported that comfortable environment for residents' recreation will be provided in the area.

The building of the National Academic Theatre of Opera and ballet after A.Spendiaryan will have artistic illumination. The design is under development. It was instructed to modernize the external illumination of Mother-Armenia statue as well.

In April of 2023, the Council of Elders made amendments to the standards determined for the installation of street advertisements, their types and sketches. During the previous year 9600 illegal billboards were dismantled. The Mayor informed that the standards the city authorities had approved the previous year involve the best experience and are of much importance from the point of view of visual noise reduction in Yerevan. The process should be continued to open the look of the monuments and heritage buildings in the city.

Overground communication cables are being replaced underground in 28 streets of the city. Taking into account the importance of the program and the necessity to improve the external look of the city, it was instructed to consider the whole central part of this city first, and to transfer the process to other administrative districts afterwards.

Renovation of Kievyan bridge continued. The staircases between the pillars were repaired first of all to make it possible the rest of the process. New banisters were install as well. The underground passenger crossing will also been opened, renovated and transferred to residents.
