Storm Update: City-Wide Parking Ban in Effect

City of Taunton Impending Storm Update: Parking Ban in Effect

(Taunton, MA - February 8, 2025) Due to the impending winter storm, a City-wide parking ban will be in effect from 11:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 through 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

PARKING BAN:

Based on storm predictions, to keep roadways clear for emergency vehicles and to allow for plowing and treatment of roads, all City residents should make every effort to park their vehicles in areas off City streets. Not adhering to this ban could result in vehicles being towed at the owner's expense.

Municipal (24-hour free parking) lots are available behind City Hall on Summer Street, Cedar Street, Trescott Street, Weir Street (rear of TMLP offices), West Water Street (behind Weir House of Pizza), and Whittenton Street (at Goldstein's 5 & 10). Parking is available at the Court Street and Pleasant Street parking lots during the course of the parking ban, but vehicles must be removed when the parking ban is lifted.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Parking ban and emergency services may be cancelled, extended, or reduced at any time due to changing conditions.

City residents are urged to exercise caution and to avoid calling the Police and Fire Departments for non-emergencies.

Storm information can also be found on the City of Taunton's Facebook page. ###
