Buildings and dwellings licensed grow by more than 20%, while completed buildings decrease by 3.6%

In the 4th quarter of 2024, 6.8 thousand building permits were issued, representing a 23.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023, intensifying the 19.3% growth recorded in the 3rd quarter of 2024. Building permits for new constructions rose by 26.4% (+20.4% in the 3rd quarter of 2024), while permits for renovations increased by 15.9%, following a 15.2% rise in the previous quarter.

The number of completed buildings decreased by 3.6% in the 4th quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, slowing the 6.7% decline recorded in the previous quarter, amounting to a total of 4.0 thousand buildings.

In the residential sector, licensed dwellings for new construction increased by 22.0% in the 4th quarter of 2024, reinforcing the 12.6% growth observed in the previous quarter. The number of completed dwellings grew by 11.8%, after a 1.3% decrease in the 3rd quarter of 2024.

Compared to the previous quarter, the number of building permits issued increased by 3.3%, while the number of completed buildings grew by 1.6%.
