Honolulu, HI - The National Park Service (NPS) and Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii have completed their assessment of the shoreside dock at Pearl Harbor National Memorial which has been closed since September 3. The Navy provided assistance at the request of NPS.

Facility specialists determined that the steel collar that connects the dock to the gangway has been severed, caused by the ongoing wake and tidal movements which over time made the dock unstable. The dock remains closed, and tours of the Arizona Memorial are currently suspended. Operations will resume when NPS and US Navy personnel deem dock conditions safe. A timeline for recommended repairs has yet to be determined.

All other amenities at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center remain open and accessible. Including the separate and independently managed, Pacific Historic Parks Audio Tour, VR Center, and bookstore, as well as the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, and Battleship Missouri Memorial. Information on visiting these non-NPS sites can be found by visiting their respective websites.

The NPS will share updates on the dock status and reopening on our park website: www.nps.gov/perl and our social media pages as more information is available.
