Stephanie Frady named Director of Community Development

After an extensive national search, City Manager Oliver C. Chi named Stephanie Frady as the new Director of Community Development. This selection marks the culmination of a rigorous recruitment and comprehensive review process.

Stephanie has been an integral part of the Irvine community since joining the Community Development Department in 2013. Prior to this role, she held numerous key positions, including Associate, Senior, and Principal Planner, Planning Administrator, and Manager of Current Planning.

As Director of Community Development, she will be responsible for managing, planning, and organizing all programs and activities in the Community Development Department, including Building & Safety, Planning and Development Services, Business Licensing, and Code Enforcement.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California and a Masters of Public Policy from Pepperdine University. She is a member in good standing of the American Planning Association, holds an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification, and has over 20 years of professional planning experience.
