Europol Environmental Statement 2022

This is the second validated environmental statement published by Europol. It details the results of the implementation of Europol's Eco-Management and Audit Scheme and its environmental performance for the year 2021. This scheme is a management instrument developed by the European Commission for companies and other organisations to evaluate, report and improve their environmental performance.

Europol initiated the scheme in 2017 and, as a result, an Environmental Management System meeting the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and of EMAS regulation was established within the organisation in the period 2018-2021. This has enabled Europol to gain insights into its environmental impact and the agency is now well equipped to monitor, control and continuously improve its environmental performance.

Europol has been ISO14001:2015 certified since 22 November 2021 and EMAS registered since 23 February 2022.
