International Paper to Acquire DS Smith

Fried Frank acted as counsel to BofA Securities as financial advisor to International Paper (NYSE: IP) in its $9.9 billion acquisition of DS Smith. International Paper is a global provider of renewable fiber-based packaging and pulp products, and one of the world's largest recyclers. DS Smith is provider of sustainable fiber-based packaging worldwide, which is supported by recycling and papermaking operations. The combination creates a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, focused on the attractive and growing North American and European regions.
