In coordination with the Italian Cultural Institute in Haifa and Cinecittà, ten Italian films will be screened at the Haifa International Film Festival, one of the Country's most important events for movie lovers and experts running from 8 to 17 October.
At the event, which is set against the magnificent backdrop of Mount Carmel, Italy presents some of its most recent and best reviewed blockbuster films: "Le otto montagne" ("The Eight Mountains", 2022) by Felix van Groeningen e Charlotte Vandermeersch, based on the namesake novel by Italian writer Paolo Cognetti; "Nostalgia" (2022) by Mario Martone, selected to represent Italy at the 95th edition of the Academy Awards in the International Feature Film Award category; "Leonora Addio" (2022) by Paolo Taviani, winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the Berlin Film Festival 2022 and running in the Carmel International Competition section at the Haifa Film Festival; "Delta" (2022) by Michele Vannucci, in competition for the Golden Anchor Competition section at the Haifa Film Festival; "Princess" (2022) by Roberto De Paolis, which opened the Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival 2022.
The screening will include the following documentaries: "Sergio Leone, l'italiano che inventò l'America" (2022), by Francesco Zippel; "Marcia su Roma" ("The March on Rome", 2022) by Mark Cousins and "The matchmaker" (2022) by Benedetta Argentieri. Showing at the Festival are also "Occhiali neri" ("Dark Glasses", 2022), Dario Argento's latest film, and "Kaos" (1984) by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, in the Haifa Classics section.
All the films are screened in the original version with subtitles in English and Hebrew.
