Police investigate assault with a weapon

At approximately 8:15 p.m. officers responded to an assault with a weapon that had just occurred near Morris and Lower Water streets. The suspect sprayed the victim with a sensory irritant spray, and then fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as white and was wearing a black coat with the hood up.
