Is Your Firm Ready for Smart Tacho II

The IRU want to know how prepared your business is for Smart Tacho II.

Trucks and coaches doing international work with analogue or original digital tachographs must upgrade to Gen II Smart Tacho from the 31 December.

Firms using newer Gen 1 Tacho have until 19 August 2025 to fit necessary upgrades.

There is concern from world transport organisation, The IRU, that tachograph supply won't meet the heavy demand caused by the change. They also question whether there are enough technicians to fit the tachographs in time.

To monitor the situation The IRU has prepared a survey to determine how many vehicles doing international work will need to be retrofitted.
