APS Energia with the Railway Technology Excellence Awards

APS Energia has received the Railway Technology Excellence Awards in the Innovation category for its SAN-RC pressure recorder. Designed and manufactured by APS Energia specialists, the device was recognised for its contribution to railway safety and improving the operational reliability of rolling stock.

The SAN-RC pressure recorder allows the pressure in the vehicle's pneumatic system to be continuously monitored and recorded. It is the only device in the wagon that allows additional independent testing and recording of signals in the vehicle. It is also able to control the speed and position of the vehicle according to the GPS signal. The pressure recorder can record data sent via CANopen protocol from other devices in the vehicle. "Such a solution provides an additional safety guarantee for the train and thus for the travellers. It is particularly useful in the operation of railway carriages, where the carriage's braking system is supplied pneumatically from the locomotive" - emphasised Marek Suchocki, export director of Trakcja & Transport APS Energia.

An independent wagon condition monitoring system makes it possible to ensure that wagons are in the correct operating conditions as designed. This increase rail safety and reduced repair costs. The pressure recorder can also serve as a predictive device for service needs.

APS Energia manufactures pressure recorders in the form of RACK enclosures, which makes installation extremely easy.

The Railway Technology Excellence Awards are presented by business intelligence company GlobalData, which recognises companies investing in innovative solutions in the rail industry and having a positive impact on the development of the industry.
