The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World – Lombardy flavours in Brussels

At the conclusion of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World - characterised by a rich calendar of events on the Mediterranean diet and sustainability - the Italian Embassy organised, in collaboration with the Lombardy Region, the Franciacorta consortium and other Lombardy consortia, an evening dedicated to Lombardy's flavours.

The initiative involved Michelin-starred chef Davide Oldani, who presented his risotto alla Milanese, and Pastry Master Chef Iginio Massari, who presented his panettone and the 'bussolá' cake.

Taking the floor during the event, the Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Pietro Benassi, emphasised the importance of protecting consumers, while the Lombardy Regional Councillor for Agriculture, Food and Green Systems, Fabio Rolfi, thanked the Italian Embassy in Brussels, the Italian Chamber of Commerce, the ICE Agency and ENIT, because, as he said, "making Italy's products be tasted is the best way to make them known to the world".

At the end of the evening, the Italian-Belgian partnership was also launched between Pastry Master Chef Massari and the Master Chocolatier of Italian origin working in Belgium, Pierre Marcolini, who presented his "chocolate panettone".
