Notice of Extension of Filing Period for Non-incumbents for the Office of City Council Member for District 1 to Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the filing period for non-incumbents for the office of City Council Member for District 1 in the City of Ojai has been extended to Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Per California Elections Code Section 10225(a), the filing period was extended beyond the initial August 12, 2022 deadline because at least one incumbent Council Member eligible to run for election for Council District 1 had not filed nomination papers as of that time.

Any Ojai resident age 18 or older who is registered to vote, eligible to take the oath of office, and unless otherwise specifically prohibited, qualified to run for the office of City Council Member for District 1, can file nomination papers on or before Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Per California Elections Code Section 10224, the filing period for incumbents for the office of Mayor, the office of City Treasurer, and the offices of City Council Member for Districts 2 and 3 are now closed.

Eligible members of the public who are interested in filing for the office of Council Member for District 1 should contact the City Clerk Department at (805) 646-5581 x120 during normal business hours.
