Route 3001 South Main Street Lane Restriction Starts Thursday in Bessemer

Pittsburgh, PA - PennDOT District 11 is announcing a single lane restriction on the South Main Street Bridge (Route 3001) over Hickory Run in Bessemer Borough, Lawrence County will begin Thursday, March 21 weather permitting.

Single-lane alternating traffic will occur on the South Main Street Bridge weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, March 29. Crews will install a new water line.

A full closure and detour for bridge replacement work on South Main Street over Hickory Run in Bessemer Borough is anticipated to begin early April 2024. Work on this $1.62 million project between Overlook Lane and East Poland Road intersections includes full replacement of the structure as well as approach roadway paving, drainage upgrades, and sign and pavement marking installation. The project is expected to conclude when the bridge reopens in late 2024.
