No single organization can act alone to help countries reduce their challenges of living amid fragility, conflict and violence. The World Bank's partnerships with humanitarian, peacebuilding, security, and private sector agencies are critical for maximizing impact on the ground. By working in a coordinated approach, partners and the World Bank are making a difference together.
The World Bank's recently published Mid-term Review of the Strategy on Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV) reiterated the commitment to its "mission-driven" partnership approach. Strengthening partnerships in areas that are outside the World Bank's comparative advantage is especially important, and it remains central to the FCV Strategy's implementation.
Save the Children is working with the World Bank to help children and their communities caught up in fragile states amidst conflict and violence. Gwen Hines, Chief Executive, Save the Children talks about the power of social protection systems, and how working with the World Bank has helped to scale up important programs to protect children.
