Hansard collaborates with Hospice Isle of Man for a sustainable future

10 April 2024

We are proud to announce an exciting new initiative in partnership with Hospice Isle of Man, introducing solar panelling to their site in Braddan. This forward-looking project seeks to secure a sustainable future for the Hospice, significantly reducing annual running costs and enabling more funds to be directed towards crucial care services for the community.

A key component of Hansard's CSR strategy, the solar panel project is poised to contribute to essential future provision of services from Hospice Isle of Man, and Rebecca House Children's Hospice.

Talking of the initiative, Graham Sheward, CEO of Hansard, said, "The inspiring work of the team at Hospice Isle of Man has long been appreciated by residents of the Island, and our support in ensuring that this continues long into the future is Hansard's way in acknowledging our respect and admiration of those that deliver such an essential service to those in need".

Underway with the implementation of the project, local company Go Green has generously agreed to source and install the solar panels, contributing an extraordinary £50,000 towards the overall costs, alongside our £10,000 commitment, emphasising their dedication to the success of this venture. The project is hoped to be fully operational by late summer 2024.

The total cost of the solar panel installation is £100,000, and the next phase involves Hospice Isle of Man targeting further fundraising efforts to cover the remaining costs. This collaboration underscores the power of community partnerships in driving meaningful change and fostering a sustainable future.
