Accommodation and training facility for Aboriginal apprentices and trainees in Roebourne

Construction is progressing on the $10.5 million Ganalili Accommodation and Training Facility in Roebourne that will include nine transitional homes for Aboriginal apprentices and low-income tradespeople, including individuals leaving the justice system.

Participants of the facility will have access to culturally secure support services with the aim to ultimately progress to the private housing market.

Supports may be offered around employment and education, health and nutrition, mental health and wellbeing, building financial capability and remaining connected to culture.

The facility will also include a caretaker's residence and an office as well as a multi-purpose education space to deliver training and support programs to the broader community.

The project was designed and is being delivered by Yindjibarndi Community Capital Limited on a site that forms part of The Ganalili Centre rejuvenation precinct.

The facility is scheduled to open in early 2024.
