PSA Replaces National IDs Affected By Residential Fire In Davao City

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) extended assistance to registered persons affected by a residential fire in Davao City by replacing their damaged National IDs.

A total of 26 registered persons in Barangay Leon Garcia received the replacement National IDs.

"Having a valid proof of identity, especially in times of emergencies is essential," said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General. "A valid ID helps agencies in identifying those who are in need of assistance post-emergency. It is our hope that through the immediate issuance of the National ID of the registered persons in Barangay Leon Garcia, we are able to help them in rebuilding their lives."

Personnel from the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Davao del Sur distributes the replacement of National IDs of registered persons in Barangay Leon Garcia, Davao City.

PSO Davao del Sur personnel led the distribution of the replacement of their National IDs on 20 March 2024. Mobile registration was also conducted in January 2024, where affected registered persons were provided with ePhilIDs that they could use as valid proof of identity.

Edna Correa was among the residents who received replacement for the National IDs affected by the residential fire. She plans to use her National ID for financial transactions.

"Gagamitin ko ang National ID sa pagpapadala ng pera at pag-open ng bank [account]," she said.

Meanwhile, the PSA is implementing the replacement of National IDs with peeled off photos.

To request for the replacement of National IDs with peeled-off photos, registered persons may visit the nearest Registration Center to request and surrender their National ID.
