Evangelical Community Hospital Earns Women’s Choice® Awards

May 01, 2024

LEWISBURG - Evangelical Community Hospital has earned several 2024 Women's Choice® Awards. The Hospital was recently notified of its inclusion in the following winning award categories:

  • 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience
  • Best Hospitals for Obstetrics
  • Best Hospitals for Orthopaedics
  • Best Hospitals for Stroke Care

The Women's Choice Award® identifies America's Best Hospitals & healthcare facilities across the nation based on robust criteria that includes relevant clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and appropriate accreditations to help women make smart healthcare choices.

The Women's Choice Award® affirms that Evangelical provides comprehensive services that women are willing to recommend Evangelical as a Hospital of choice due to very good nurse communications, staff responsiveness, recovery information, and cleanliness.

Evangelical has been determined to be a top 9% hospital in obstetrics, a top 3% hospital in orthopaedics, and a top 3% hospital in stroke care in comparison to hospitals of similar size and scope. In addition, it is indicated as a hospital that 80% of patients recommend to others based on their experiences.

"To be awarded in four different categories by the Women's Choice Award® speaks to quality and commitment Evangelical, its providers, staff, and volunteers bring to patients every single day," said Kendra Aucker, President and CEO, Evangelical Community Hospital.

"Every person, in every department, in every medical discipline at the Hospital works toward a clinical experience that is enhanced by compassion and consideration of the whole patient. We're extremely honored to be recommended by Women's Choice to patients in this area and beyond."

Women's Choice Award® methodology is unique in that it is the only national list that simplifies a woman's choice when selecting a hospital. The awards are based on the understanding of what matters most to women when selecting a hospital. The most recent publicly recent publicly available clinical data from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient satisfaction survey results, and relevant accreditation information from appropriate sources and the American Hospital Directory.

In some cases, thousands of women have been surveyed to determine which measures are most important to them which is factored into the weighting or those items. The scoring methodology is 100% objective, replicable and uniform.
