Join us for a fireside chat with the Rt. Hon. David Johnston

We are excited to host a compelling discussion on some of the most important topics facing our post-pandemic world.

We are inviting all members of our community to attend a thought provoking conversation between the Right Honourable David Johnston, 28th Governor General of Canada, and Dr. Cecilia Bukutu, Director of the Public Health Department at Concordia University of Edmonton, as they discuss David's new book Empathy: Turning Compassion into Action.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Tegler Student Centre, Concordia University of Edmonton, 7128 Ada Boulevard.

This timely book, written for the post-pandemic world, is a practical guide to turn empathy into action. Using our inherent instinct for kindness, David says we can create a smarter and more caring society when facing issues as diverse as racism, gender, cybercrime, climate change and other challenges.

Through the telling of impactful stories, David Johnston affirms that, "Everyone has power over some things that other people don't. When they learn ways to turn that power into action, they change the future dramatically."

This is a not to be missed event. You will come away with deeper insights and powerful tools to take deliberate action towards creating a better world.

We look forward to seeing you there. Tickets are available through Eventbritefor $30 + GST. Registration fees include a hardcover copy of the book, as well as a meet-and-greet and signing.
