EMEC is the world's leading demonstration facility for testing wave and tidal energy technologies in the sea. Based in Orkney, the centre is also working on R&D projects looking at green hydrogen, floating wind and the decarbonisation of maritime and aviation sectors.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to contribute to the technical delivery of EMEC projects, across marine energy, green hydrogen and other low carbon and associated services.
Educated to degree level in a science, business or technical subject, you will focus on participation in and delivery of project tasks, ensuring completion to time and budget and supporting Project Managers. These tasks may include marine energy technology, device performance testing and inspection, green hydrogen technology demonstration, electrical site integration and low carbon technology techno-economic studies. You will draft a range of technical documentation for projects which will include the analysis and interpretation of data, participate in the reporting and dissemination of findings and ensure adherence to EMEC's ISO and IEC accreditations.
You will have well developed critical, numerical and analytical skills, with a high sense of responsibility and integrity, and the ability to write well for a variety of audiences (e.g. technical, regulatory, management).
Past experience in a relevant or similar engineering role is essential, and experience specific to the marine energy sector / hydrogen / electrical engineering would be advantageous to the applicant.
