Green Bay Packers sign former Texan defensive back Benjie Franklin

As the NFL Playoffs are in full-bore, a former Tarleton defensive back signed back into the league.
The Green Bay Packers announced they have signed CB Benjie Franklin, who played in Stephenville for three seasons from 2019-21.

Franklin was a member of the Packers' practice squad this past season after beginning his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars in May.
In Franklin's Tarleton career, he recorded eight interceptions, 27 passes defended, one fumble recovery, two blocked kicks and 103 total tackles in 29 games. He also scored two defensive touchdowns and a safety, one on a blocked field goal attempt, one on a fumble recovery, and the safety on a blocked PAT.
Franklin, who became the 19th player in Tarleton Football history to sign into the NFL when he joined the Jaguars, is the second Texan to sign with the Packers over the past two years. Former Tarleton defensive back Dominique Martin joined the Packers for a stint in 2021.
