Kelly Ayotte Embraces Extreme Anti-Abortion Agenda With Vance Endorsement

The U.S. Senator has called rape and incest "inconvenient" circumstances

After U.S. Senator JD Vance was announced as Donald Trump's running mate, Republican candidate for governor Kelly Ayotte quickly took to social media to praise this selection, claiming that the Trump-Vance ticket is "strong."

Ayotte called Vance - who said there is no need for rape and incest exceptions and called those horrific circumstances "inconvenient" - "well qualified to serve as Vice President."

Like Vance, Ayotte brings to the race an extreme and unpopular record of attacking women's right to get an abortion:

• Like Vance, Ayotte has called for a national abortion ban, leading the charge for a vote on such restrictions while she served in the U.S. Senate. She also called for the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which Vance called an "amazing victory," and voted to defund Planned Parenthood.
• Ayotte's work as Neil Gorsuch's "sherpa" paved the way for the eventual overturning of Roe and abortion rights for millions of women across the country.

"JD Vance has a long and well-documented record of attacking women and reproductive freedom, and by endorsing him for Vice President, Ayotte is embracing that same extreme and dangerous agenda that Granite Staters have repeatedly rejected," said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O'Brien. "Granite Staters know Kelly Ayotte is an extremist who will do and say anything - including proudly standing side-by-side with extremist weirdos who have set their sights on attacking our freedoms - to get elected, and they know they can't trust her."
