"EleX by EGAT" now opens in Northernmost province - Mae Hong Son to promote eco-tourism city and move toward a low carbon society

Mae Hong Son Province and EGAT opened the first EleX by EGAT charging station in Mae Hong Son to promote EV ecosystem which is in line with smart city strategy, develop Mae Hong Son to be the city of ecotourism, and drive Thailand toward a low carbon society.

Under Mae Hong Son - Smart Grid Pilot Project, Mae Hong Son Province and Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) officially opened the first full-service EleX by EGAT charging station of Mae Hong Son Province. The opening ceremony was chaired by Mr. Chettha Mosikarat, Governor of Mae Hong Son Province and attended by Mr. Prasertsak Cherngchawano, Deputy Governor - Strategy, Mr. Bandit Tangpokanon, Acting Provincial Energy Officer, government and private sectors, and the media at Endless Hill Coffee Shop, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province.

Mr. Chettha Mosikarat, Governor of Mae Hong Son Province, said that the EleX by EGAT charging station will play an important role in improving the quality of life of Mae Hong Son people and promoting the province to become the city of eco-tourism with power system security from clean energy. This is in line with the strategy of the province whose unique feature is beautiful culture. Meanwhile, electricity stability and sustainability in the province are promoted.

Mr. Prasertsak Cherngchawano, EGAT Deputy Governor - Strategy said that the charging station will promote EV deployment in Mae Hong Son, build EV users' confidence, and enhance traveling convenience according to Mae Hong Son Smart City Strategy. Moreover, it helps achieve EGAT Carbon Neutrality by 2050. The charging station has two charging slots with 2 connectors of 125 kW DC Fast charge and one connector of 22 kW AC Normal charge. The EV users can use the charging station via EleXA application.

EGAT has also constructed the EleX by EGAT charging station in Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province to serve those who travel from Pai to Mae Hong Son and support the future public transport from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son. Presently, EGAT has opened 98 EleX by EGAT charging stations across the country and plans to achieve the target of 150 stations by 2023.
