ACCGov Animal Services, Leisure Services, Solid Waste, Other Changes for Indigenous Peoples' Day

Animal Services

• The Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, October 10 and will resume regular hours on Tuesday, October 11. Fosters, adoptions, and rescues are scheduled by appointment and availability. Those searching for missing animals at the shelter do not need an appointment. Shelter hours are from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
• Animal Control Officers will not be available for non-emergency calls on Monday, October 10. Non-emergency service calls will resume on Tuesday, October 11.
• Emergency animal services - such as an animal bite, a seriously sick or injured animal, or an animal trapped inside a living space of a home - will be provided throughout the holiday by calling 911.

Leisure Services

• ACC Leisure Services parks will operate under their regular hours on Monday, October 10. Sandy Creek Park is closed on Mondays and will be closed on October 10.
• All other department facilities (Sandy Creek Nature Center, Lyndon House Arts Center, all community centers) will be closed on Monday, October 10.
• All parks and facilities will reopen Tuesday, October 11 under regular hours of operation.

Solid Waste

• Solid Waste offices will be closed on Monday, October 10.
• Residential garbage and recycling collection normally scheduled for Monday, October 10will be collected on Tuesday, October 11; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collection will take place as regularly scheduled.
• Downtown district commercial and residential curbside, roll cart, and dumpster garbage and recycling services will be collected as regularly scheduled.
• All other commercialcurbside, roll cart, and recycling services normally scheduled for Monday, October 10will be collected on Tuesday, October 11; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collection will take place as regularly scheduled.
• Leaf & limb collection will delay pickup by one day, beginning on Tuesday, October 11through Friday, October 14tentatively in Area F. The area is subject to change based on the final collection from the week of October 3- see accgov.com/leaflimb for current updates.
• The Materials Recycling Facility will be closed on Monday, October 10. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, October 11 from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• The Landfill will be closed on Monday, October 10. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, October 11from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
• The CHaRM facility is closed on Mondays and will be closed on October 10. It will be open as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, October 11and Wednesday, October 12 from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

Transit

• Transit offices are closed on Monday, October 10.
• All Transit services will operate as regularly scheduled.
• Route 14 remains hourly until further notice.

Other Offices

All general departmental administrative offices and facilities (City Hall, Courthouse, Satula Avenue Building, Dougherty Street Governmental Building) will be closed on Monday, October 10. Regular hours of operation will resume Tuesday, October 11.
