The City of Simi Valley is recruiting individuals interested in serving on the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation (Foundation) Board. The Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. Its efforts provide vital operating support that allows the Center to bring artistic, cultural, and educational programming to the community.

The Foundation's signature event is the Spotlight Awards, a fundraiser that recognizes local artists, educators, volunteers, and patrons for their contributions to the arts community in Simi Valley. The Foundation also hosts special "Foundation Nights", which are members-only receptions held in conjunction with the Mainstage productions at the Center, and other special fundraising events throughout the year.

The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and exists as a separate entity from the City of Simi Valley. The Board is comprised of 21 members, seven of which are selected by the City Council. This recruitment is to fill four (4) City Council appointed vacancies for terms that begin on October 1, 2022 and conclude on June 30, 2026. Foundation Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center.

Applications to serve on the Foundation are available on the City's website at www.simivalley.org/foundationapp. Experienced non-profit fundraisers, arts advocates, and community leaders are all highly encouraged to apply. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022. Applicants will be interviewed by two City Council members who will also make recommendations for appointment.
