The President of the National Assembly Mr. Vezhdi Rashidov, Vice-Presidents of the National Assembly and MPs attended the ceremony of water blessing of the military colours, ensigns and battle-honoured sacred flags of the Bulgarian Armed Forces at the Epiphany feast in Sofia

The ceremony of water blessing held on Epiphany was performed by His Eminence the Western and Middle European Metropolitan Antoniy in association with priests from the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The President of the country and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Bulgarian Armed Forces Mr. Rumen Radev welcomed the guard of honour of the representative units of the Bulgarian Army. The ritual was also attended by the Interim Prime Minister Mr. Galab Donev, the Minister of Defence Mr. Dimitar Stoyanov and the Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov, the Mayor of Sofia Ms. Yordanka Fandakova, senior military officials, representatives of local governments, military-patriotic unions, public figures, citizens.

Blessing of water was performed for the sacred flags of Thirteenth Infantry Regiment of Rila, Fifteenth Infantry Regiment of Lom, Twenty-third Infantry Regiment of Shipka, Thirtieth Infantry Regiment of Sheщnovo, Sixth Infantry Regiment of Tarnovo, Twenty-fourth Infantry Regiment of the Black Sea, Twenty-fifth Infantry Regiment of Dragoman and the Standart of the 1st Cavalry Regiment, as well as the battle flags of the National Guard, G. S. Rakovski Military Academy, military formations 44510 - Sofia, 22320 - Bozhurishte, 28860 - Gorna Malina, 24900 - Vrazhdebna and the representative flags of the different types of armed forces.

Wreaths and flowers are placed in front of the Monument of the Unknown Warrior.
