DBK Attracts Funding for Strategic Projects: Signed Agreement with Banco Santander

Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (a subsidiary of Baiterek Holding) and Banco Santander, Spain's largest financial institution, signed a framework agreement on export financing cooperation. The signing was a part of the 8^th Kazakhstan-Spain Business Council meeting in Madrid. The agreement aims to attract long-term funding for infrastructure and energy projects in Kazakhstan.

Under the agreement, Banco Santander plans to provide DBK with up to €400 million in financing under export credit agency coverage. The funds will support strategic projects with international exporters, facilitating technology transfer, infrastructure modernization, and strengthened economic relations for Kazakhstan.

"International export financing creates new opportunities for major investment projects in Kazakhstan. The agreement with Banco Santander is a key step in developing financial tools for sustainable growth and technology adoption. We will continue to engage strategic investors and global partners," said Marat Yelibayev, Chairman of the DBK Management Board.

During the Business Council, the Head of DBK participated in the panel session "New Business Opportunities," highlighting Kazakhstan's investment potential and DBK's role in financing major projects. The Kazakh delegation also held negotiations with representatives of leading Spanish companies Xcalibur, Barceló Hotel Group, and Ávoris, and visited Parque Tecnológico de Valdemingómez and Innovaciones Imabe S.L.U.

The agreement with Banco Santander and the meetings enhance global partnerships, attract foreign investment, and promote advanced technologies in key sectors of Kazakhstan's economy, creating new opportunities for businesses and supporting sustainable development.
