New screening room, enabled by DTS:X technology, allows filmmakers to create and review immersive audio experiences for movie-goers.
TOKYO-June 21, 2021- DTS, a global leader in next-generation audio, imaging and sensing technology and a wholly owned subsidiary of Xperi Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: XPER) ('Xperi'), today announced the first DTS:X quality control screening room in Japan has opened at Imagica Entertainment Media Services ('IMAGICA EMS'), Japan's largest post-production facility.
The full DTS:X cinema system has been integrated into IMAGICA EMS's Tokyo Imaging Center theater, opening this month in Shinagawa City. Content partners can now screen and review local and Hollywood movies released in the DTS:X audio format in the state-of-the-art facility.
'Our collaboration with IMAGICA EMS encourages filmmakers to explore an expanded universe of sound with DTS:X immersive audio,' said Bill Neighbors, chief content officer, Xperi. 'Local content partners now have access to a facility where they can create, ensure quality, and showcase their new releases with DTS:X immersive sound technology.'
'The integration of DTS:X audio technology expands the possibilities for our filmmakers to reach audiences in a more personal and deeply engaging way,' said Tadashi Aota, executive officer, IMAGICA Entertainment Media Service, Inc. 'Collaborating with DTS, we would like to expand the project using DTS:X immersive audio technology in Japan among the rapid growth of DTS:X-enabled content availability worldwide.'
