Mapungubwe Festivals goes International

Mapungubwe Arts Festivals have gone international. The festivals which started with street Carnivals on 2 December 2022 have now attracted neighbouring countries.

"We have this morning, received diplomats in Hon. Erginus Endjala, the Governor of Omusati Region in Namibia at the Polokwane International Airport. ", says Limpopo MEC for Sport,Arts and Culture ,Ms Nakedi Kekana this morning.

Governors in Namibia hold the same status as Premier as recognised in our country.

"We are honoured that the Governor is joined by Mr. Abisai Shaningwa, Director for planning in his office, Mr Erricson Ndawanifa, Council Chairperson from the Ohangwena Region, Mr Etuhole Haimbili, the Deputy Director for Development planning from the Ohangwena Region", she continued.

The two regions from Nambia will later be joined by a delegation of 5 from Zimbabwe representing the Trans-Limpopo Spatial Development Initiative (TLSDI).

This delegation,received by MEC Nakedi Kekana assisted by the International Relations in the Office of the Premier are guests of the Premier,and are here to enjoy the courtesy of Limpopo,and the arts culture and music of the Limpopo people.
Mapungubwe Arts festival has attracted all these dignitaries from sister African countries. It is one event locals do not want to miss!

The art stalls remain open to the public in the City of Polokwane. Tickets to the music festival are fast selling out.

Last night,the Jack Botes Hall was full of laughter as local comedians joined a horde of locals in making "laughter the best medicine. The MEC was joined by Capricorn District Executive Mayor, Mamedupi Teffo,a delegation from the ZCC and Members of the Legislature to enjoy as comedian Salesman dissed on them.

We urge everyone to buy their tickets and join us from midday tomorrow until 6am Sunday morning. Gates at Cricket Stadium open at 12h00 on Saturday. A few tickets maybe sold at the stadium but people are urged to buy early to avoid disappointment. No bottles are allowed,and there will be a beer garden for resellers to enjoy.
