Little Pine Creek Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project Resumes in Pine Township, Lycoming County

03/18/2024

Montoursville, PA - Motorists who travel Route 4001 (Little Pine Creek Road) in Pine Township, Lycoming County, are advised that the bridge rehabilitation project resumes this week. This project will disassemble the existing structure, refurbish portions of the existing steel and replace some components with new steel. The bridge will then be reassembled and will be the same configuration as the current structure. A temporary bridge will be installed downstream of the existing bridge to maintain traffic.

Week of March 18

  • Starting Monday March 18, 2024, motorist can expect to encounter flaggers and daylight signing to begin pile installation for the temporary bridge foundations.

J.D. Eckman is the prime contractor on this $11 million, multi-year bridge improvement project. This construction season, the contractor will install the temporary bridge and disassemble the existing bridge, which will be sent away to be refurbished. In 2025, the contractor will construct new abutments and anchorages where the bridge will be reassembled. The project is anticipated to be completed in late 2026, when the contractor reassembles the refurbished structure.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays, watch for changing traffic patterns, and drive with caution in the area.
