Lankford Supports Israel Amid Attacks from Iran

WASHINGTON, DC - Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today issued a statement after the Senate voted to support an aid package that includes US support for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan:

"America should speak with moral clarity against Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthi terrorists, Russian and Iranian aggression and for the free people of Taiwan, Ukraine, and Israel. Our allies need to know we stand with them and against the tyranny they face.

"Iran continues to bring violence to the Middle East, while Israel along with the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco are trying to build peace through the Abraham Accords. America can send a strong message that we side with those who are working to bring peace, and we condemn the violence and hatred that the Iranian regime promotes. American clarity is especially necessary as disgraceful antisemitic protests erupt on elite American university campuses.

"Congress was unwilling to work across the aisle to solve America's border security problem, so the problem remains. But their refusal to solve our border crisis should not prevent Congress from sanctioning Iranian aggression, pushing back on violent terrorists, or protecting our own nation from Chinese communist controlled propaganda."

Lankford is the co-founder and co-chair of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus and the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism. Lankford spoke on the Senate floor in support of Israel days after Iran recklessly launched over 300 drones and missiles at Israel. Lankford is a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Last week, Lankford questioned DHS Secretary on President Biden's plan to use his executive authority to secure the wide-open border he created.
