On February 9, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an elderly female who was robbed in the 1600 block of St. Mary's Road.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., the victim was walking back to her vehicle in a commercial parking lot when an unknown male confronted her. The suspect stole the purse she was carrying and then fled on foot. The victim was not physically injured but was very shaken as a result of this incident.
Subsequently, the victim's credit card was fraudulently used to purchase merchandise at a store.
The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and is now seeking the public's assistance to identify a suspect seen in surveillance images.
Suspect described as:
A male early 20s, wearing a blue medical mask, dark olive green hoodie with a black "The North Face" winter jacket, black pants with white stripes on the sides, and black runners with white accents.
