ICYMI: Senator Marshall Joins KWCH To Discuss #OnePillCanKill Fentanyl Awareness Campaign

Wichita, KS - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. joined KWCH live in studio this morning to discuss his ongoing statewide #OnePillCanKill Fentanyl Awareness Campaign.

This week, the #OnePillCanKill campaign is focused on raising awareness about the dangers of illicit fentanyl and its presence in communities across Kansas. The coalition includes the Kansas federal delegation, law enforcement, educators, members of the state legislature, and health care groups and more totalling over 100 Kansas organizations participating. Senator Marshall also discussed the dangers of illicit fentanyl crossing over our wide-open southern border.

On Senator Marshall's Statewide #OnePillCanKill Fentanyl Awareness Campaign:

"One fake pill laced with fentanyl can kill. Across the state of Kansas, we're seeing young adults, students order online a Xanax tablet, Adderall, Percocet. It's laced with fentanyl, even marijuana now, is laced with fentanyl. It's across the country. We're getting real poisoning. We're using Narcan 10 or 15 times every day across the state. Otherwise we'd be losing dozens more."

"I've been to the border four times. And every time I've just seen the situation worsen there. And I knew that we were going to be in this crisis epidemic. So four or five years ago, we started launching this fentanyl awareness issue."

"It's so bad across the nation that everybody is understanding the impact of it is now. It's easier and cheaper in the state of Kansas to order a fentanyl tablet than it is a slice of pizza. Your student, your child, your grandchild can get online on Snapchat and order a fentanyl tablet. It'll be delivered to their house."
