Free pet waste drop-off at convenient locations this April

Remember to double bag your pet waste and never dispose of it in your curbside bins

As the snow disappears, pet waste appears and it's time to start thinking about cleaning your yard. There are two convenient locations available on certain weekends in April to help you safely dispose of your pet's waste for free.

Please remember to double bag all pet waste to prevent harmful bacteria from spreading.

Drop off locations and hours

Howard Pew Memorial Park in Waterways

  • April 13 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • April 21 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Centerfire Place in Thickwood

  • April 14 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • April 20 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Accepted items for drop-off include fecal matter, kitty litter, training pads, soiled wood chips and newspapers - all free of charge!

Other ways to dispose of pet waste

Please remember that pet waste is not allowed in any of your curbside bins. Household pet waste is also not allowed in parks, trails and transit bins. Only small amounts of pet waste from walks can be disposed of in these bins.

  • Bring it to the landfill - double bag your waste and take it to the Municipal Landfill.
  • Keep it at home - put your pet waste in a Green Cone composter at home.
