Clifford Chance advises CEE Group on the acquisition of a 103.5 MWp solar park in the Netherlands

International law firm Clifford Chance has advised CEE Group, the Hamburg-based asset manager for renewable energies, on the acquisition of a ground-mounted solar park in the province of Groningen, the Netherlands, from Dutch project developer Ecorus Group.

After completion, the Fledderbosch solar park will have a capacity of around 103.5 MWp. This means that the CEE Group has solar energy plants with a total capacity of over 350 MWp in the Netherlands alone.

Commissioning of the plant is planned for February 2024. The electricity will be sold through the Dutch SDE++ support system for renewable energies and will have a fixed tariff for at least 15 years. The Netherlands is thus one of the few countries still operating with such a state-guaranteed tariff system. Read more about the project here.

This transaction builds on Clifford Chance's market-leading Project Finance practice and sector expertise in renewable energy, having broad experience with solar energy projects. The Clifford Chance team was led by Liesbeth Buiter and consisted of Johanneke Butijn, Shaun Campbell, Pieter Leefers, Dolyne Munyampeta, Julia van Heusden, Kris Soomers, Lotte de Bruin, Andrea Karkotis, Esmée Oldenkamp, Charlotte Horsten and Stern Flik.
