USGBC is excited to attend Climate Week in New York City (NYC), New York, from Sept. 22 to 29. Hosted by the Climate Group in parallel with the U.N. General Assembly, Climate Week NYC brings together business leaders, policymakers, nongovernmental organizations and advocates to collaborate on climate solutions at events throughout the city.

The theme of this year's Climate Week is "It's Time." Climate change is happening today, and it's time to scale action and accelerate progress toward the net zero future leaders have committed to achieving. Along with COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, later this year, Climate Week will showcase the urgent work that needs to be done to meet global climate targets.

As a leader in the green building industry and developer of the LEED rating system, USGBC will have a presence at Climate Week NYC centered around financing opportunities for green buildings and exploring collaborative partnerships to decarbonize the building sector.

USGBC staff will be speaking at several events, including the following sessions, at Climate Week NYC.

• Sept. 23-Climate Week Panel: Sustainable Construction Talk, hosted by Saint-Gobain, with speaker Peter Templeton, president and CEO, USGBC and GBCI
• Sept. 23-Delivering COP's Energy Efficiency Pledge, hosted by the Climate Group, with speaker Vatsal Bhatt, vice president, LEED for Communities, USGBC
• Sept. 24-Pioneering Circular Construction Speaker Panel, hosted by Thornton Tomasetti, with speaker Celeste McMickle, director of client solutions, TRUE Zero Waste, USGBC
• Sept. 25-The Subnational Climate Action Leaders' Exchange Climate Week Action Dialogue Panel, hosted by WRI Ross Center, with speaker Peter Templeton
• Sept. 26-Inflation Reduction Act: Implications for Real Estate, hosted by ULI, with speaker Ben Evans, federal legislative director, USGBC
