Wellness Watch - Mental Health Awareness

Millions of Americans have mental health challenges that may range from mild anxiety to severe, debilitating conditions. In fact, experts estimate that more than 20% of adults in the United States are living with a mental illness.

There are a wide range of treatment options that may provide relief, and you should not hesitate to seek care if you believe you may be dealing with a mental health disorder. The National Institute of Mental Health has helpful brochures and fact sheets on multiple mental disorders here: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications.

Phoebe Psychiatrist Dr. Eric Ragazino discusses mental health and some of the treatment available at Phoebe.

The Phoebe Behavioral Health team is comprised of seasoned psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and highly skilled therapists who are all committed to delivering exceptional care. We have a Behavioral Health Emergency Center in Albany. The Behavioral Health triage area is uniquely equipped to provide services for behavioral health patients. Our main hospital also includes an inpatient behavioral health unit that provides care for individuals ages 18 and older who have been diagnosed with an acute psychiatric illness and need immediate intervention.

The Phoebe Behavioral Health Clinic offers traditional outpatient therapy and other services for patients ages 5 and up.

Our Services Include

  • Medication Management: Our board-certified psychiatrists and advanced practice providers (APPs) offer comprehensive medication management for a wide range of behavioral health conditions.
  • Outpatient Therapy: We provide traditional outpatient individual therapy for individuals aged 5 and above, offering support and guidance to help you navigate life's challenges.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Our IOP offers specialized care for individuals 18 years and older who are dealing with psychiatric diagnoses, designed to prevent hospitalization and support successful transitions to lower levels of care.
  • Group therapy: We offer group therapy where a small group of individuals facing similar challenges or issues come together under the guidance of a trained therapist. In these supportive and confidential sessions, participants share their experiences, emotions, and strategies for coping, offering mutual understanding, empathy, and encouragement.
  • Telehealth services: We make accessing behavioral health care more convenient than ever with our telehealth services. Connect with our experts from anywhere, at your convenience. Get counseling or medication management right from your own space. Experience accessible and compassionate care with just a click.
