Thailand welcomes the UN Security Council Resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire for the month of Ramadan in Gaza

Thailand welcomes the adoption of the United Nations Security Council's Resolution on 25 March 2024 demanding an immediate ceasefire for the month of Ramadan to be respected by all parties leading to a lasting sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, as well as emphasizing the urgent need to expand the flow of humanitarian assistance to civilians.

During this holy month of Ramadan, Thailand firmly believes that it is imperative for all parties involved to comply with this resolution in its call for the alleviation of human suffering and the safe return of all remaining hostages, including the Thai nationals.

This resolution is a major step forward, which Thailand sincerely hopes will set the path towards a lasting ceasefire, a return to negotiations and an enduring peace on the basis of the two-State solution.
