Applus+ in the UK achieves 1.5M operational hours without a lost-time accident on the EDF Energy nuclear contract

For over 9 years, Applus+ has worked on EDF Energy sites without a lost-time accident or incident, totaling 1.5 million operational hours so far. This is a fantastic achievement and one that we and our client, EDF Energy, can both be proud of.

We recently received the prestigious ROSPA Patron's Award in recognition of its safety achievements, of which the safe delivery on the EDF Energy contract plays a crucial role.

Our company has been responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of Manual Non-Destructive Testing services on all eight of EDF Energy's nuclear power stations in the United Kingdom during normal operation and periodic maintenance outages since January 2013. All work has been carried out without a lost-time accident or incident, which is a testament to the company's ethics and values in supporting and encouraging safe work from senior management to the technician level. At times, the work has been challenging, but the drive for safety and quality comes first, with no job so important that it cannot be done in a safe manner to the required quality levels.
