As part of the Central Bank of Libya's policy to achieve the highest levels of disclosure and transparency across all sectors, and out of its commitment to fulfilling its designated role by covering the letters of credit submitted by commercial banks through the coverage system for importing various goods and services, in order to meet the needs of the local market on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan,
the Central Bank of Libya has covered all letters of credit submitted by commercial banks from 01/11/2024 to 20/02/2025, with a total value of approximately $6.5 billion. These goods are expected to be available in the local market during this period.

In publishing this statement, the Central Bank of Libya emphasizes that any increase in the prices of these goods and services, especially food products, is unjustified compared to the volume of opened letters of credit. Therefore, such price increases are not due to delays in supply but are attributed to various reasons beyond the scope of the banking sector.
