SCPD Hosts 29th Annual Public Safety Patrol Awards Ceremony in Partnership with AAA

The Santa Clara Police Department hosted the 29th Annual Public Safety Patrol Awards Ceremony for 5th Grade students representing 18 elementary schools in Santa Clara.

The event included a presentation by Mayor Lisa Gillmor, Chief of Police Pat Nikolai, Santa Clara Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Gary Waddell, and a representative from AAA. AAA sponsors the Safety Patrol Awards.

The Top "Safety Patrol of the Year" Awards went to:

1st place - St. Justin
2nd place - Eisenhower and Laurelwood (tie)
3rd place - Haman
Most Improved - Scott Lane
Chief's Award - Washington Open

Congratulations to all of the members of our Safety Patrol teams. Thank you for your sacrifices such as giving up recesses to learn about public safety and arriving very early to school to help keep our City safe for crossing around schools!
