DOE PAGES Gets a Makeover

The Department of Energy Public Access Gateway for Energy & Science (DOE PAGES) has been redesigned to improve your ability to explore and access scholarly scientific publications.

DOE PAGES now reflects the look of OSTI's flagship search tool OSTI.GOV, and resource-specific search tools DOE CODE, DOE ScienceCinema, and DOE Data Explorer. In addition to the new look, news pages have been added, and the search interface has been updated.

The new search interface allows users to perform basic and advanced searches directly from the homepage. After searching, users can refine results with the filter options on the left-hand side of the results pages. Individual record pages offer users more information with the inclusion of an 'Other Related Research' tab added to the top of the full record page, providing users with 'Similar' works that may be similar in content to that record. The 'Other Related Research' tab may also include 'Related Works' such as datasets, software, and figures related to that article. DOE PAGES continues to offer a 'Reference/Citation Traversal' tab to the DOE community, displaying detailed citation and reference information provided by Web of Science. OSTI has added reference and citation information from other sources when available, particularly from Scholix, an interoperability framework for enabling links between scholarly literature and data; this additional information is viewable for all users and may be accessed via the 'References' or 'Cited by' tabs at the top of the full record page.

Personal account registration is still available and more intuitive. Users can save searches, set up alerts, and create and export lists in multiple formats including CSV and XML. For members of the DOE community you will have access to the additional citation metrics provided by Web of Science, following a simple account verification process. Account registration is not mandatory but does enable more interactive features and customization.

DOE PAGES is the search tool that makes peer-reviewed scholarly scientific publications - either the peer-reviewed, accepted manuscript or the published scientific journal article - resulting from DOE research funding publicly accessible. The redesign is part of OSTI's ongoing efforts to make science more open, efficient, and reproducible - and to better serve the needs of DOE-funded researchers and the American public.
