Students and faculty from the OT and PT programs at UTHSC and engineering students from Christian Brothers University have been working with children and families in the Mid-South over the past 8 months to modify toy ride-on vehicles for young children with disabilities who cannot access and operate the vehicles otherwise.
The toy vehicles have been customized by student-faculty teams so that the children will have the opportunity to operate the adapted vehicles to explore their environments more independently and safely while having fun and participating in social activities and play.
Admission to the Rodeo is free, and the public is invited to attend. The program will open with a brief presentation about the GoBabyGo! program and then attendees will get to see the children test-drive the vehicles before the vehicles are taken home by the children's families.
