Message from the Mayor - Newtownards Fire

​A message from The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Jennifer Gilmour, following today's fire in Conway Square.

I was saddened to see the damage caused by the fire in Conway Square this morning. This will have devastating consequences for local business owners.

The Emergency Services must be commended for their prompt response as they continue to deal with the incident and its aftermath.

Thankfully, nobody has been injured but this is affecting several businesses in the area so I encourage customers to be patient and let our Emergency Services carry out their duties.

My thoughts are with all those affected.
