Amid the crisis of unsheltered homelessness, Portland has an urgent need for temporary shelters, including overnight shelters, day centers, and 24/7 shelters.
The Cityseeks a diverse group of shelter providers to meet the unique needs of individuals without shelter and to ensure the community's concerns are addressed with compassion and understanding.
"Ending unsheltered homelessness will take all of us-neighbors, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders-working together with compassion and urgency," said Mayor Keith Wilson. "When we unite our efforts, we can change lives and build a city where everyone has a place to call home."
People facing homelessness require different levels of support. We encourage experienced providers to create collaborative proposals with other service providers-such as housing, addiction treatment, mental health programs, food groups, night shelters, outreach, and employment services-to meet the complex needs of this population.
The Cityis requesting proposals from qualified community-based organizations (CBOs) with proven experience in operating and managing temporary shelters for adults or others experiencing homelessness.
