At its Tuesday meeting, City Council approved the authorization and execution of a contract for bridge rehabilitation.

Why it matters: The contract will fund the repair and rehabilitation of 17 bridges across the city in Council Districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9.

The major repairs and rehabilitation work could include:

  • Bridge approach slab replacement.
  • Expansion joint replacement.
  • Metal beam guard fence repair.

What's next: Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and reach completion by winter 2023.
