National Bank of Georgia Releases Vakhtang Gorgasali Collector Coins
The National Bank of Georgia continues to release collector coins within the Kings of Georgia series. The new 5-lari collector coins are dedicated to King Vakhtang Gorgasali. The release of the coins was planned in October-November of this year; however, the production and, therefore, release was somewhat delayed due to objective reasons at the Royal Dutch Mint.
Following from the above, the National Bank of Georgia is pleased to gradually offer 5-lari collector coins dedicated to King Vakhtang Gorgasali starting from December 20 of this year. The price of the gold coin is GEL 1,380, available at the National Bank of Georgia under the following terms:
The exact date of the start of the sale of Vakhtang Gorgasali silver collector coins and other detailed information about it will be published in January 2023.

Gold Coin Design
The central composition of the obverse of the gold coin is the image of the king, created according to the painting of artist Giorgi Gegechkori. The coin bears the inscription Vakhtang I Gorgasali andthe period of his reign"V ს.". The background of the coin is an illustration of Tbilisi, specifically, the surrounding area of Metekhi church.
The central composition of the reverse of the gold coin is the image of a shield. A wolf's head is depicted on the helmet (as a symbolic appellation of King Vakhtang Gorgasali). The inscriptions on the coin are: 5 Lari, Georgia, 2022, GEORGIA.
